SWF Miss Amelia (Mia) If our sweet BB is our little Mercedes, then Mia must be our Limo or perhaps a private jet. Mia has the perfect Vanner temperament, intelligent, superb confirmation and lineage (see the last two pictures in the gallery) with the Gypsy King as her sire and dam, Summer’s Tia, who always produces superb foals. In addition to all this, Mia comes with her very own resume of impressive show prizes (See below).

Mia was lovingly bred and raised at Stillwater Farms (SWF) in North Carolina (www://Stillwaterfarm.com). We are keeping Mia’s first foal Misty.  Mia, who lost her Sister, Pia, several years ago, has never quite recovered: Pia and Mia were extremely close, and I believe Mia was afraid to allow herself to love another as she did Pia.  Ahhh, but Misty, sweet Misty, has more than won her way into Mamma Mia’s heart.  She is not just her daughter, but her best friend.  Not only has Mia recovered her spirit to love her fellow horsemates, she has taken over as boss mare: This is something I never anticipated, even though she is the oldest.  So, Misty will stay right here. Mia is safe for almost anyone to ride.  My Dad has set her a time or two, and I’ve had two year olds on her too.  She and Patience have also become our go-to girls for the Alpine Christmas parades.

Mia will be bred to another fabulous SWF horse for a 2016 foal, Pearly King.  Looking at Mia and DJ, it’s easy to see why Misty is so beautiful, and it is fun to think how wonderful the next baby will be by Pearly King.
