Misty is Mia’s first and she is lovely; so feminine and such a sweetheart. She has a beautiful soft dish to her face, superb top-line, prize legs, easy gates. We missed her birth, and really got VERY lucky. We had checked the mares at 8 pm, Steve heard a noise, and went back out to check again, and there was Misty, upside down in a feeder, and asleep. For a variety of reasons, some of which I think we will never know having missed the birth, both Misty and Mia were rather confused regarding the nursing process. Long story short, between the two, we have been feeding Misty her milk since birth. Mia is still very much the Mom, and has taught Misty her manners…..Mia is actually the sternest of our three Mom’s, so Misty is very gentle with people. However, just like Momma Mia, she is rather fierce in her dealings with her herd mates, and even though smallest, pushes hard for top boss-foal. She’s got Katie buffaloed, and makes Leena think twice about pushing. Still, all the herd loves Misty! And so do we. Misty is bright, loving, playful, confident, inquisitive, and now follows Steve everywhere: ‘Pocket-pony’ does not really describe her…she is Daddy (Steve’s) little girl. This little girl is going to be such a prize. She is very special.
